RV Tank Heater Pad 12" x 18" 12v Kit
When you camp in colder weather, there are many aspects that are the same as camping in the heat. You still have to pack your supplies with consideration to the weather, you still have to prepare properly, and you still have tons of fun.
Unlike camping in the summer, though, it becomes very important to cold-proof your RV. When it comes to insulating your RV, it’s necessary to insulate and heat your plumbing system specifically. If your plumbing system isn’t properly insulated, you could end up with pipe damage due to the fluids expanding in there or you could not be able to have access to your water. Imagine turning on your sink or shower and getting nothing out.
Or worse, imagine trying to flush your toilet or empty your sink and find that it won’t drain. These things can happen if you don’t take the necessary steps for your plumbing system in cold weather. If you’re looking for the tools to prevent these vacation-ending disasters, you’ve come to the right place. These heating kits are here for your cold-weather needs.
Including a 12” by 18” tank heater pad (1, 2, or 3), a 3” by 13” elbow heater pad (1, 2, or 3), a toggle switch (single, double, or triple), and wire (20 ft, 30 ft, or 50 ft), these heating kits are here to insulate and protect your RV’s plumbing system.
With the freedom provided by this kit, you can camp in the colder months without worrying about your RV’s inner parts becoming damaged. Including the screws needed to install the toggle switches as well as instructions, you can have a quick installation, getting you out on your adventure as soon as possible.
Both the tank heater pads and the elbow heater pads are specifically designed to insulate and heat your tanks and pipe elbows, respectively. Used by RV owners for years, they provide warmth and water safety down to -11° F, depending on your RV’s design and if the pad was properly installed.
The tank heater pad measures 12” W by 18” L and the elbow heater pad measures 13” L by 3” W. Both pads are 3.0 MM thick and are rated for 13.5V DC. The tank heater pad covers fresh, grey, and black water tanks up to 50 gallons and includes a 36” lead wire. The elbow heater pads are to be used with 3” elbow pipes and come with an 18” lead wire.
With the convenience of being able to safely camp in the colder months, you also have the convenience of an easy-to-use heating system. The pads attach to the control panel, which is designed with accessibility in mind. While the tank heaters have automatic sensors telling them when it is time to turn on and off, the elbow heater pads do not.
Because of this, the toggle switch is easy to use and read, with a clearly defined label on it as well as an LED light built into the switch, allowing you to see whether the heater pads are on even in the middle of the night. Because the control panel is rated for 20 amps, make sure that the circuit of heater pads does not exceed this amount. If it does, make sure to include more than one toggle switch to handle the electric flow.
